At the exciting intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Big Data, and Security, we are looking to add a Data Scientist specializing in the AI/ML space. You will have the opportunity to apply your mathematical, scientific research and coding skills to the cutting edge of cybersecurity technology. By working closely with other research team members, you’ll leverage large-scale, rich security data to improve ML/AI models, automate workflows, and strengthen BitSight’s cyber risk platform.
Responsibilities:
- Applies ML/AI techniques under guidance to support product development such as asset management, entity resolution, and cyber risk assessment in security datasets.
- Assists in preparing, cleansing, and analyzing large-scale security data to uncover patterns, risks, and opportunities for automation.
- Prototypes and tests ML/AI models under guidance, applying appropriate techniques for the problem at hand.
- Demonstrates progressively increased understanding of BitSight’s security data stack.
- Documents findings, maintains reproducible workflows, and shares progress with teammates to support ongoing research and product development.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree required in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering & Operations Research or other quantitative field.
- Programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with big data frameworks such as Spark/Hadoop.
- Ability to read, learn, and apply ML and AI tools for solving business problems.
- Exposure to working with structured and unstructured data, including text and graphical data.
Preferred Skills
- Interest in cybersecurity and applying ML/AI to real-world risk and security problems.
- Exposure to cloud services like AWS and GCP
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
