About the Project
Our client is an early-stage Web3 initiative building a groundbreaking local blockchain payment system designed to operate without internet connectivity. Using radio-based transaction technology, their goal is to empower small communities to run independent, low-bandwidth local networks with integrated payment systems.
This is an experimental project at proof-of-concept stage, backed by private funding. If successful, the work will extend into a multi-year build and open-source rollout across multiple regions.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Blockchain Engineer with Cosmos SDK expertise to lead the design, deployment, and testing of a new blockchain network tailored for low-connectivity environments. You will be working directly with the CTO and a small distributed team of network specialists and engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure blockchain networks using Cosmos SDK
- Build and test validator and node infrastructure optimized for low-bandwidth environments
- Integrate wallet and transaction systems capable of operating via radio communication
- Explore interoperability options using IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication) and EVM module integration
- Contribute to architectural decisions for bridges and Ethereum connectivity
- Support testing of the proof-of-concept in live community environments (France/Spain pilot)
- Collaborate with the team using Slack and remote-first workflows
Requirements
- Proven Web3 / blockchain engineering experience (validators, nodes, wallets, proof-of-stake systems)
- Strong hands-on expertise with Cosmos SDK (mandatory)
- Familiarity with IBC and cross-chain communication (preferred)
- Experience with EVM-compatible modules and smart contracts (Solidity, Rust) a plus
- Solid understanding of blockchain consensus, security, and infrastructure deployment
- Comfortable working in an early-stage, experimental environment with fast iteration
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Why Join?
- Be part of an innovative project at the intersection of blockchain and real-world connectivity
- Opportunity to shape a system designed to bring payments to communities outside the reach of traditional internet infrastructure
- Work closely with a highly experienced CTO and a small, agile team
- Potential to extend into a longer-term role if the proof-of-concept succeeds
