Job Summary:
Maintain all PC based systems hardware and software. Ensure all CWES IT systems are supported during exercises and maintenance periods at Cubic Logistic Support Building (LSB), Exercise Control (EXCON) and Remote sites or deployed in the field. This includes Cubic Proprietary Equipment and corporate IT systems. Installs operating system patches, software upgrades, software installations, and modifications of Windows systems. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly have discretionary decision-making authority.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for the administration of proprietary systems and Windows, Linux and android application software.
- Maintain, repair, upgrade, update, archive/restore proprietary systems.
- Administer proprietary application software.
- Install, Monitor and troubleshoot network infrastructure.
- Maintain, fault find and rectify Windows server, Workstation, laptops and peripherals.
- Hardware installation of physical servers, network appliances in rack environment.
- Maintenance of COTS and bespoke applications.
- Administer and maintain Active Directory Servers on PC based systems.
- Enforce corporate and site security policies regarding network, server, cyber data and internet.
- Communicate with military staff / operate communication systems.
- Be prepared to travel to support the company when so requested, acting in the capacity as advised both in Canada and abroad.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Windows Server Certification 2012 or Higher, A+ Certification, CCNA or Network Certification, VMware Certification 6.0 or Higher.
- Proven experience in 4G and LTE systems and Networks. Proven experience of Cisco and HP Routers, switches and firewalls.
- Ability to fault find and recognize potential system failures and organize/perform remedial action.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and line diagrams.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must be flexible and adjust to short notice changes in support to our customer.
- Work and react well under pressure.
- Able to lift/carry at least 50lbs.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Requires mental alertness and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Physical ability to walk, stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, and to climb stairs is required.
- Requires bending, reaching, and fitting into tight places to perform normal duties.
- Available to travel nationally on a regular basis during military training periods as well as possibility of international travel.
- Bi-lingual capability preferred (Eng/Fr).
- Requires proof of the right to work in Canada. Requires a probationary period of 3 months.
- Requires a security background check made by the Canadian Authorities.
Cubic Pay Range:
$1.00 - $1.00 + benefits.
