About The Job

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to support our Shared Services teams. This role will focus on managing projects across various functions including finance, HR, facilities, and other business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, excellent organizational skills, and experience with agile development methodologies. This person will report into the Enterprise Planning group, which serves as the principal champion of core agile principles embraced company-wide, ensuring that planning processes are efficient, transparent, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives.

Our aim is to hire this position to work in either our Arlington, VA office or Santa Barbara/Goleta, CA office.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Plan, execute, and oversee projects within the business operations domain, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and risk management plans.
  • Prepare and present project updates and performance reports to senior leadership as needed.

Agile Methodologies

  • Utilize Umbra's agile methodologies to manage and deliver projects effectively.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews.
  • Foster a collaborative environment and promote agile best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in project management and business operations.

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with various departments including finance, HR, facilities, legal, and IT to ensure project alignment and support.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain strong working relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience working in a technical product, program, or project management role.
  • Proven experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in project management software (especially Jira).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence to interact and empathize with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and customers.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in change management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Industry expertise in government programs, GIS, SAR, B2B SaaS, and/or aerospace.
  • Proven track record driving products and features to market in a highly technical environment.
  • Experience with developing commercial API products that support a customer developer experience.
  • CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) are highly desirable.

Pay Transparency

This job posting may cover multiple career levels. To ensure greater transparency, we provide base salary ranges for all roles, regardless of location. Our standard pay ranges are based on the role's function and level, benchmarked against similar growth-stage companies. Compensation may vary based on geographical location, as certain regions may have different cost-of-living factors. The final offer will also be influenced by the candidate's skills, responsibilities, and relevant experience.

Compensation Range

The Compensation Range for this role is $125,000 - $155,000 DOE.
