About The Role

Reed Technology is seeking a Contract Developer with specialized expertise in Node.js development, REST API design, and SIP-based communications. This pivotal role involves supporting the migration of legacy device management, call control, and configuration workflows into a secure, scalable cloud environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-native services that facilitate real-time communication and data management. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of professional experience in backend development using Node.js and Express frameworks. Proven expertise in building and deploying REST APIs is essential, alongside hands-on experience with SIP/TLS integration and managing real-time communications systems. Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience migrating on-premises solutions to cloud environments are highly desirable. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in Node.js, cloud technologies, or related disciplines will be considered advantageous, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of this role include analyzing existing legacy applications to identify dependencies on on-prem infrastructure and designing cloud-native solutions that enhance scalability and reliability. The developer will be tasked with refactoring services to optimize performance in a cloud environment, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. Developing and maintaining secure REST APIs for functionalities such as SIP authentication, call control, and real-time data interactions will be a key focus. The role also involves implementing and maintaining SIP/TLS integrations, ensuring low latency, secure communications, and compliance with industry standards. Additionally, the developer will design and manage database schemas for cloud storage, facilitating efficient data transactions and real-time state management. Overseeing the migration of sensitive data to secure cloud storage solutions while ensuring adherence to GDPR and other regulatory standards will be critical. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions and providing ongoing support and troubleshooting for deployed services will also be part of the role.
