About Us

At Praemium, we simplify wealth management through the only fully integrated platform that manages every aspect of an investor’s wealth in one place.

We manage over $63 billion in funds for leading institutions and private wealth firms, combining innovative technology with outstanding service. Our mission is simple: to help financial advisers deliver great outcomes.

The Role

We’re looking for a UX/UI Designer to join our Product Development & IT team, embedded within our Trading & Client Experience Tribe.

You’ll be the sole designer in a highly technical delivery squad and the single point of accountability for UX/UI within your domain!

It’s a role for someone confident, hands-on, and comfortable owning the full design process: from research and prototyping through to delivery, without additional design support. You’ll work closely with Developers, BAs and Product Owners, translating complex requirements into seamless user experiences. Your ability to hold the design line while navigating technical constraints will be key to your success.

If you’re excited about driving design excellence in a tech-first environment and being the go-to design expert, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end UX/UI design process, from user research through to prototypes and delivery.
  • Work autonomously while aligning outputs to business goals and customer needs.
  • Partner daily with Developers to ensure design intent is understood, implemented accurately, and consistent with standards.
  • Champion design quality, accessibility and consistency across platforms.
  • Conduct usability testing and apply insights to improve the experience.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, BAs and QA to embed user needs into every sprint.
  • Be a design advocate within your squad and tribe, balancing best practices with pragmatism.

Desired Experience & Competencies

  • 3+ years’ experience designing web and mobile applications, ideally in a product or agile environment.
  • Comfortable being the only designer in your squad, working independently.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions across disciplines.
  • Proven track record of working closely with Developers to see designs through to delivery.
  • A thoughtful portfolio showcasing design process, problem-solving and impact.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Sketch, or InVision.
  • Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is an advantage.
  • Experience in financial services or other complex, regulated domains is highly valued.
  • A strong cultural fit: collaborative, pragmatic, and able to thrive across design, tech and product mindsets.

What We Offer

  • Hybrid work – 1 day per week in office (anchor day Tuesday).
  • Competitive salary with annual performance incentives.
  • Comprehensive leave benefits, including paid parental leave and purchased leave options.
  • Access to novated leasing and financial wellness programs.
  • Tailored professional development opportunities.
  • End-of-trip facilities at 367 Collins Street, Melbourne.
  • A friendly, inclusive and supportive culture.

How to Apply

Apply with your CV and responses to the screening questions, outlining how your career aligns with the role’s responsibilities.

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce and welcome applications from all qualified candidates. A police check will be required for successful applicants.
