Eblex Group are supporting a Belgium based Biotech with their search for a Data Scientist. The team the successful Data Scientist would be joining combines cutting-edge science with advanced computational approaches to accelerate drug discovery, biomarker identification, and therapeutic development.

Responsibilities Of The Data Scientist

• Analyse complex biological and clinical datasets (genomics, proteomics, imaging, high-throughput screening, etc.) to drive actionable insights.
• Build predictive models and machine learning algorithms to support biomarker discovery, patient stratification, and drug development.
• Develop scalable data pipelines, workflows, and visualization tools for multi-omics and clinical data.
• Collaborate with biologists, chemists, and clinicians to translate computational findings into experimental strategies.
• Communicate results clearly through reports, visualizations, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in AI/ML, data engineering, and bioinformatics.

What We’re Looking For in the Data Scientist

• Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience applying data science in biotechnology, pharma, or life sciences.
• Strong programming skills (Python, R, SQL); experience with ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Hands-on experience with biological datasets (NGS, single-cell, proteomics, clinical data, or imaging).
• Proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization.
• Experience with cloud computing and workflow tools (AWS, GCP, Docker, Nextflow, Snakemake).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
