Senior Cloud Data Developer

Location: Brussels (Hybrid 50/50)

Start Date: 01-12-2025

Duration: 660 workdays (renewable every 3 months, 1-month notice)

Daily Rate: €600

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Data Developer to design and deliver high-performance, state-of-the-art data engineering solutions on a modern Azure-based cloud platform. This role requires hands-on expertise with Databricks, Azure SQL, and data integration, combined with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and coach end users.

As a senior member of the team, you will also play a key role in promoting standard data engineering practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective data engineering solutions
• Deliver high-quality outputs aligned with established standards
• Conduct thorough testing and resolve issues during development phases
• Provide technical guidance and enforce data engineering best practices
• Coach and support end users through demos, training, and one-on-one sessions

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data engineering projects with Databricks and Azure cloud services
• Strong knowledge of ETL, data integration, data warehousing, Lakehouse architecture, and performance tuning
• Proficiency in Databricks, Python, PySpark, Git, Apache Airflow, and SQL
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in:
• Data warehouse design, Lakehouse, Delta Lake
• Azure cloud data platform technology
• Databricks development
• Azure SQL technology
• Excellent level in:
• Databricks platform (notebooks, delta lake, clusters, unity catalog, auto loader, etc.)
• Programming languages: Python, PySpark
• Performance tuning and large-scale data handling

Languages

• French or Dutch: Proficient (understanding, speaking, technical writing, reading) in one language, with at least basic knowledge of the other
• English: Independent working knowledge
