The role reports to a Cyber Security Specialist (HEO) and is responsible for assisting in the design, build, management and support of infrastructure and cyber security services that underpin the organisation’s digital services. Responsibilities also include assisting in the analysis and definition of requirements for the migration of legacy technologies to modern solutions and the implementation of these projects.
This role will work alongside the Infrastructure and cyber security team members, other ICT teams, contractors, vendors, and business stakeholders.
The role is both technical and business facing, the candidate must demonstrate technical skills and ability to develop expertise (there will be hands-on technical work required) whilst also being capable of contributing to and managing projects.
The role contributes to a team driving digital transformation through the implementation of digital services that meet the Courts Service business needs and strategic goals. The candidate will be required to think laterally to dissect a problem into its component parts to identify and diagnose root causes, allowing problem resolution. This role will require an ability to contribute to the troubleshooting and identification of problems across different technologies including computing, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, COTS and open-source solutions, and virtual and cloud computing, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements
Skills and Experience Required
- Knowledge of ICT infrastructure and proven skills in an ICT environment
- A qualification at Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major award), in a relevant Information Technology, Computing or computational discipline, ideally a Cybersecurity or related degree is desired.
- Security or network related certification is a benefit though not necessary (CCNA, CompTIA Security+ Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate etc)
- Self-motivated with a drive to continuously improve.
- Strong communication skills
- Professional approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for learning technology with demonstrable experience via college, self-study or work experience.
- Experience with M365/Azure, Microsoft Sentinel, Darktrace or Qualys would be a plus.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools or coding/scripting language (e.g., KQL, SQL) is an advantage.
- Ability to collaborate with other teams during the plan, design, test activities as needed, for projects and initiatives
- Awareness of and interest in the latest trends and developments in ICT
