About The Role

Overseeing, managing and maintaining Progress OE databases, ensuring their optimal performance and compliance with all relevant regulations, guiding and mentoring junior administrators.

Please note, that the position requires occasional on-call support outside of regular business hours

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Deploy, maintain, and monitor Progress OE databases
• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and ensure security and compliance
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues
• Provide mentorship to junior DBAs and technical support to other teams across the organization
• Collaborate with developers and system administrators
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in database administration
  
  

To Thrive In This Role, We Believe You Have

• Extensive hands-on experience (3+ years) as a Progress OpenEdge Database Administrator in enterprise or mission-critical environments
• Deep technical expertise in Progress OE database management, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backup & recovery, replication, and high availability/disaster recovery solutions
• Proficiency in performance optimization, query tuning, monitoring, capacity planning, and troubleshooting complex database issues
• Understanding of container platforms such as OpenShift or Kubernetes for database/application hosting
• Strong knowledge of database security, compliance
• Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, change, problem management) in enterprise environments
• Experience with automation and scripting to improve operational efficiency
• Collaborative mindset and communication skills to effectively collaborate with developers and system administrators
• Interest in mentoring and sharing knowledge with team members
• Proactive and curious approach, with a passion for continuous learning and staying current on Progress OE advancements and database technologies
• Fluency in English, that is required to work with a colleagues across Baltic countries.
