Your role

The Technology Transfer Officer will be part of a multidisciplinary team at the SnT and will report to its Head of TTO. The main tasks of this position include:

  • Working in tight collaboration with SnT research teams in the Space Strategic Research Area
  • Developing strong relationships with private and public space organizations in Luxembourg and abroad
  • Generating new leads for space-related research projects with a strong commercial impact
  • Building and maintaining trusted relationships between research groups and commercial partners and be their first point of contact at SnT
  • Supporting SnT research groups during the acquisition and negotiation of collaborative research agreements with companies and public sector
  • Providing market intelligence and trends scouting relevant to space sector and SnT research teams’ expertise, consolidate insights to fuel demand-driven applications, keeping track record of key players across all the space value chain
  • Promoting clarity on commercial leads, IP negotiations (e.g. IP ownership and licensing T&C), and post-sales support, liaising with IP staff and researchers to identify possible routes of valorization of research results
  • Advocating and promoting SnT’s Industry Partnership program
  • Representing SnT in national and international conferences and events relevant to SnT Space activities
  • Promoting SnT facilities by showcasing research facilities (labs) and core research competences
  • Seeking other possibilities of commercial exploitation of SnT Space facilities and identifying new business opportunities
  • Contributing to SnT strategy by providing input to the Head of TTO and SnT’s management team particularly regarding market intelligence

Your profile

  • Master’s degree required, a doctoral degree would be seen as an asset
  • Space engineering, Space Systems, Computer Science or similar technical or engineering background
  • Proven experience in a similar role is considered as an advantage
  • Solid experience in innovation management and business development in the Space Sector
  • Strong network of contacts across the industry value chain in relation to SnT Space Strategic Research Area, namely in the Luxembourg ecosystem
  • Easily communicates with scientists, understands objectives of different stakeholders in the technology transfer process
  • Experience with existing space-related funding opportunities (e.g. EU, EUSPA, EDA, ESA)
  • Have a passion for technology and innovation
  • Professional attitude in building trusted business relations
  • Demonstrate solid experience in bringing research results to the market
  • Business experience in the fields of ICT and digital services in general and particularly in telecom, cybersecurity, data analytics, artificial intelligence, robotics or other areas relevant in the SnT research application areas
  • Fluency in English is required. German or French are considered a plus
