About the job
As a member of the Cegeka Networking & Security Team, your mission is the day-to-day maintenance of the network infrastructure equipment our customers use. You will need to provide timely and professional support through diverse channels of communication. You will also deal with all technical matters assigned to your group and handle high priority situations when necessary.
The Networking Team operates in a 24 by 7 system. For this position, standby (on-call) work is required, and performed by rotation. Some additional out of office hours implementations might be necessary, but these are scheduled in advance and are performed on a case-by-case basis. To meet internal business requirements, the team is expected to provide availability until 19:00. In practice, we as a team deal with this by having at least one engineer present until 7 p.m. on a rotating basis.
What you will do:
- Offer operational support to our customers, by performing technical analysis and implementations on equipment covering several vendors/technologies;
- Troubleshoot and solve network/security problems and perform daily ticket handling for issues raised by internal/external stakeholders;
- Handle high priority situations and take corrective actions during outages;
- Accurate ticket documentation of the network support request and troubleshooting steps taken;
- Participate in various network/security projects as well as perform change order preparation, review and implementation;
- Analyze and make proposals on how to further develop the network environment as well as working procedures;
- Your responsibilities also include monitoring and documenting the network environment;
- You will need to respond to situations in a timely fashion in order to uphold the deliverables and SLAs;
- Provide guidance and support for new engineers through a buddy system and feedback.
What helps you succeed:
- Two to three years of experience in Network Engineering roles.
- Very good knowledge of the TCP/IP and OSI models and protocols.
- You have experience with troubleshooting tools and traffic analyzers (Wireshark) and have the ability to interpret packet captures.
- You know the working principles of the BGP, OSPF, EIGRP routing protocols;
- You know how to troubleshoot and configure firewalls.
- You are familiar with networking equipment from different vendors like Fortinet, Palo Alto firewalls, Pfsense, F5 load balancers and Cisco/Aruba wireless solutions,...
- CCNA/NSE4 level knowledge about networks is preferred.
- Knowledge of Network Security Policy Management like Algosec is a plus.
- You have basic knowledge about Azure.
