Position: DevOps Engineer (Observability & Distributed Systems)
Location: Krakow, Wroclaw, Warsaw
Type of work: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in office)- obligatory
Salaries: base+ financial bonus
Please note: for this role we can not consider candidates who require company support to legally live and work in Poland
Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage observability tools like Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana for log monitoring, metrics visualization, dashboard creation, and alerting.
- Provide architectural and hands-on guidance to improve system resiliency, efficiency, performance, and cost optimization.
- Work with Kafka and Cassandra in distributed environments to ensure robust data streaming and storage.
- Automate operational tasks using Python and/or Bash scripting.
- Collaborate with development teams in an Agile environment, participating in analysis, design, coding, and unit testing.
- Support the design, development, and deployment of multi-tiered enterprise applications using Java, Spring, Hibernate, JDBC, JNDI, IBM MQ Series, and Web Services (SOAP/REST).
- Perform production support, including incident handling, bug fixing, and root cause analysis in a cross-functional environment.
- Work across multiple operating systems including Unix, Linux, Ubuntu, and Windows.
- Interact with relational databases such as Oracle and MySQL.
- (Optional) Apply knowledge of Mobile SDK languages for mobile-related integrations.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of commercial experience on similar job position
- Proven experience with Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and/or Bash.
- Experience with Kafka, Cassandra, and distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in Java/J2EE technologies and enterprise application development.
- Familiarity with Oracle and MySQL databases.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in production environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
- Exposure to mobile SDKs is an advantage.
