The Role

Skills

The UI/UX & Graphic Designer (App & Web) plays a key role in shaping Guardian Singapore’s digital customer experience across both our mobile app and website (“Guardian Online”). This role combines strong visual design skills with practical UI/UX know-how to:

  • Execute and adapt UI/UX designs based on established group-wide guidelines and design systems
  • Ensure local relevance for the Singapore market, including campaign adaptations and regulatory content
  • Create high-quality, on-brand digital assets such as web banners, campaign visuals, and promotional content
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver seamless, engaging, and conversion-ready user journeys

Responsibilities

UI/UX Design Execution

  • Apply shared UI/UX guidelines and component libraries to create consistent and responsive designs for Guardian online (web and app)
  • Tailor layouts and interaction flows to meet Singapore customer needs and commercial requirements while preserving overall design consistency
  • Prepare user flows, mockups, and interactive prototypes to support new features, modules, or journeys

Graphic & Campaign Asset Creation

  • Design and produce high-impact digital campaign assets for use across Guardian online, including web banners, app visuals, homepage modules, category headers, and push notification creatives
  • Adapt master campaign key visuals for multiple sizes and formats (e.g., mobile vs desktop) to ensure performance and legibility across platforms
  • Deliver production-ready assets in the correct dimensions, aspect ratios, and file types (PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG), with proper compression and text legibility

Localisation & Visual Quality Assurance

  • Customise shared design elements (e.g., homepage modules, promotional banners) to align with Singapore’s promotional calendar, customer habits, and regulatory standards
  • Conduct preflight checks and UAT for all visual assets and UI deployments across platforms (iOS, Android, responsive web)
  • Identify UI/UX issues and escalate or resolve in collaboration with product and tech teams

Cross-functional Collaboration & Troubleshooting

  • Collaborate closely with Online Manager, Commercial, Marketing and Tech teams to align creative timelines, briefs, and priorities
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure creative assets are delivered accurately and on time

Performance Improvement & Governance

  • Track post-launch performance (e.g., CTR, engagement, bounce rate) of banners and UI updates; provide recommendations for future creative tests
  • Maintain asset libraries, design documentation, and version control for efficient handover and alignment across teams

About You

Education

Diploma or Degree in Visual Communication, Digital Design, Interaction Design, Multimedia, or related field

Experience

  • Min. 1 year of combined UI/UX and digital graphic design experience
  • Track record of delivering mobile and web designs that convert, with examples of digital banners and campaign visuals in portfolio

Design Tools

  • Proficiency in Figma (design systems, components, prototyping)
  • Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Understanding of responsive layout and design optimisation

Technical Know-how

  • Familiarity with asset optimisation (compression, WebP/SVG export), accessibility basics (colour contrast, alt text), and working knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Able to conduct basic usability checks and support UAT with product teams

Collaboration & Project Skills

  • Experience working across functions (Marketing, Commercial, Product, Tech)
