Job Description

The role can be based in either our New York, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or Omaha office.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

We are looking for a Data Science Associate to join our team. In this role, you will work with cross-functional partners and develop advanced analysis, data foundations, and data tools to enable data-driven decision-making for the Customer Success organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Advanced Data Analysis: Conduct complex analyses on large datasets to uncover trends, correlations, and patterns that drive customer success strategies.
  • Insight Generation and Communication: Translate data findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, utilizing statistical analysis and predictive modeling to inform decision-making.
  • Drive recommendations, innovative solutions and guidance on complex or ambiguous analytics challenges and work with cross functional partners to align on solutions
  • Serve as program manager and development lead for GenAI-driven initiatives
  • Foundations and Pipeline Development: Write scalable and efficient SQL to encode business logic, and develop robust pipelines on the LinkedIn data stack.
  • Tool and Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain data tools and analytics dashboards to automate processes and provide real-time insights into customer metrics and product usage.
  • Data Management: Establish robust data collection, storage, and quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and accuracy of analyses.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross functional partners in customer success and adjacent teams to integrate data-driven insights into strategies and initiatives.
  • Continuous Learning and Innovation: Keep up with industry trends in data science and analytics to drive innovation and improve customer success outcomes.
  • Project Management: Lead analytics, foundations, and BI projects from inception to completion, aligning with strategic goals and ensuring delivery of measurable value to the organization.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field or related practical experience
  • 4+ years of relevant industry or relevant academia experience working with large amounts of data
  • 4+ years of experience with SQL/relational databases
  • 4+ years experience in at least one programming languages (e.g., R, Python, Java, Scala, PHP, JavaScript)
  • Statistical modeling project experience with regression models, tree models
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard design


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in a quantitative discipline: statistics, operations research, computer science, informatics, engineering
  • Data pipeline development experience
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL (Extraction, Transformation & Load) concepts, and patterns for efficient data governance.
  • Experience with forecasting modeling
  • Experience on or adjacent to a Business Intelligence team
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex data environments and provide guidance to business leaders
  • Self-starter, able to work independently but ask for guidance when needed
  • Speak comfortably in a variety of settings including one-on-one and in front of large groups and adapt communication style for different audiences.
  • Nimble and comfortable with ambiguity; a track record of responding quickly to rapidly evolving opportunities.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.    

The pay range for this role is $112,000 to $185,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
