WBS Technology is a fast-growing startup in the IoT space. We empower building managers and building owners to commit to sustainable building operations by delivering new data insights and automation capabilities through our Plexus mesh network technology. Our proprietary mesh technology provides uniquely wide indoor coverage at extremely low cost, and we have hundreds of successful installations across Australia.

We’re looking for a passionate individual looking to make an impact, with experience working across the stack from mobile to frontend to backend. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the development process at every level, from the architectural and technical direction to the UI/UX. You'll be working alongside a small but talented team of engineers.

You’ll have the unique opportunity to work alongside hardware engineers, and develop software in tandem with the in-house hardware that we design.

Our tech stack:

• mobile application in Flutter
• web frontends in React
• backend REST API server in Kotlin/Spring Boot
• database on PostgreSQL

You’ll be expected to wear multiple hats and will have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of challenges.

What we’re looking for:

• You want to have more impact and ownership of projects that touch every aspect of the business
• You have the ability to participate in all stages of the development lifecycle, from requirement gathering, to architectural discussions, to deploying and monitoring in production
• You have experience working embedded in a team, with excellent communication skills
• You care about writing high quality code and good engineering practices
• You’re excited about technology and don’t feel bound to a single software stack - you consider yourself a generalist and have experience working with a variety of languages and tools
• You have experience working with modern component-based frontend architectures (eg, React/React Native/Flutter)
• You have experience working with Spring Boot, or at least within comparable backend frameworks
• Experience with native Android and native iOS is not required, but very helpful
• You are interested in contributing to the app design, and think you know what makes for great UI and UX
• Most importantly, you have strong fundamentals and are willing to learn and constantly improve yourself
