Obinex is the first fully gamified centralized exchange (CEX), where finance meets game mechanics and NFT-powered experiences. We’re building the platform that will redefine how millions of users interact with trading, staking, and digital economies.

Our MVP is in development, and we’re assembling a global founding team. Now we’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to architect, scale, and secure the core systems powering Obinex.

The Role

We’re seeking a Senior Backend Engineer who can design scalable architectures, make forward-looking technology choices, and bring clarity to the rationale behind those choices. You’ll collaborate closely with the Head of Engineering, DevSecOps, and Product teams to:

• Architect and implement the core backend services of our exchange, including the trading engine, order book, staking pools, and NFT modules.
• Develop high-performance APIs to power our frontend applications, ensuring low latency and scalability for thousands of concurrent users.
• Design and optimize databases (SQL/NoSQL) and messaging systems to handle mission-critical financial transactions.
• Integrate security and compliance requirements directly into backend systems, collaborating with DevSecOps from day one.
• Build for resilience: implement fault tolerance, monitoring, and incident response systems to ensure 24/7 reliability.
• Project the future: continuously evaluate how you’d rebuild systems with today’s latest technologies, keeping Obinex’s architecture future-proof.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers as the backend team grows, setting coding standards and best practices.

What you will bring?

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Golang and Rust (mandatory 7+ years with both).
• Strong knowledge of scalable system design and distributed architectures.
• Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Ability to clearly explain technical choices and long-term architectural projections.
• Proven track record of building production systems at scale.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in Web3, trading platforms, or fintech.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (AWS, DevOps, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to compliance-driven systems.
