Job Description
Your role
Role
As a Data Science Intern at Qantev, you will play a crucial role within our dynamic data science team, collaborating closely with our technical experts to develop and deploy innovative AI solutions that transform the health insurance landscape. You will have the opportunity to:
- Gain a deep understanding of health data and healthcare economy dynamics.
- Enhance our state-of-the-art OCR pipeline for processing large volumes of insurance claims data, aiming for improved accuracy and efficiency.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of our LLM and NLP pipelines for accurate and efficient medical coding inference.
- Refine and advance our machine learning models for fraud detection, leveraging advanced algorithms to identify complex patterns.
- Implement and optimize associated algorithms for performance and scalability.
- Research and implement best practices for testing and deploying our machine learning models at scale.
- Proactively identify and propose innovative ideas to enhance our existing products and develop new features, contributing directly to our product roadmap.
- Beyond exploring great ideas, integrate them into our product by writing high-quality, production-level code.
Your profile
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who meets the following criteria:
- Seeking a 4-6 month internship.
- Strong foundation in Applied Mathematics, with a focus on machine learning, probabilistic modeling, computer science, and/or operations research.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and pay close attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to write quality production code.
- Eager to engage with clients to understand their needs and integrate their feedback into your projects.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience working on production-grade projects with strong software engineering insights, particularly concerning the adoption of large scale language models (LLMs).
- Proficiency with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX) and specialized libraries for LLM development, fine-tuning, and inference optimization (e.g., Hugging Face Transformers, DeepSpeed).
- Prior experience in dynamic, fast-paced environments like startups or agile development teams, with a track record of contributing to NLP or LLM-centric initiatives.
- A good sense of humor!
