Associate General Counsel, Special Investigations Responsibilities:
- Conduct internal investigations across the globe, including the EMEA region, of matters relating to anti-corruption, cyber security, anti-money laundering, securities, competition, international trade and fraud and other areas involving potential regulatory liability
- Assess factual findings to effectively evaluate legal and regulatory risk
- Ensure investigations result in remediations to enhance Meta's compliance infrastructure and processes
- Retain and manage outside counsel relating to investigation matters
- Meta requires all employed attorneys to have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location. Unless prohibited under local law, an attorney must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable
- 8+ years relevant investigations experience, either in the government, at a law firm, or in-house at a company
- Experience working with cross functional teams to address complex legal challenges
- Demonstrates solid judgment and experience assessing risk
- Experience managing investigations in the government, at a law firm, or at a company
- Demonstrated knowledge of EMEA tech-regulatory landscape, authorities and frameworks
- Experience and background in conducting internal investigations
