About The Team
You will be a part of a growing mobile and frontend team, working closely with UK counterparts in an agile, collaborative environment. The team is undergoing a major transformation to strengthen its mobile-first capabilities, integrating new technologies like server-driven UI, Firebase (through a Google partnership), and AI-powered features.
You will play a crucial role in technical leadership, architecture, and delivery of high-impact features across mobile and web platforms, driving innovation and raising engineering standards.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you will combine hands-on engineering with strategic ownership of frontend architecture, particularly focused on mobile. You will guide and inspire a team of engineers while driving best practices, scalable architecture, and robust code quality.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you will combine hands-on engineering with strategic ownership of frontend architecture, particularly focused on mobile. You will guide and inspire a team of engineers while driving best practices, scalable architecture, and robust code quality.
You will:
- Set the technical direction for React Native and web components, integrating with GCP-based microservices.
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and ownership.
- Own the design and implementation of complex features, including AI-driven interfaces and server-driven UI.
- Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver high-quality customer experiences.
- Drive improvements in CI/CD, observability, testing (e.g. Detox), and performance.
Requirements
- Proven track record in software engineering roles
- Proven experience leading teams and owning architecture decisions.
- Expert in TypeScript, React Native (preferred over React), and modern mobile development.
- Experience with mobile-specific tools like Expo, EAS, Detox/Appium, and Firebase.
- Strong architectural mindset (API-first, Domain-Driven Design, Design Systems).
- Experience with cloud services (GCP preferred).
- Background in integrating SaaS platforms and event-driven systems (e.g., Pub/Sub).
- Native iOS or Android (Swift/Kotlin) experience is a strong advantage.
- Passion for user experience, performance, and accessibility.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working UK hours and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
