About the Team
We are a highly skilled Machine Learning team focused on ads bidding across meta search platforms such as Trivago, TripAdvisor, and Google Hotel Ads. Our work is deeply rooted in auction theory, econometrics, and advanced machine learning models that directly power and optimize ad bidding strategies.
The team is composed primarily of senior ML scientists, with expertise spanning deep learning, econometrics, and machine learning pipelines. This role is central to building models that generate bids, not just maintaining pipelines.
The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Scientist who will play a critical role in designing and developing models that drive our ad bidding systems. The role requires both strong technical skills and the ability to communicate and present complex concepts clearly in a largely remote environment.
This is a rare opportunity to work on real-world applications of auction theory within a commercial ML-driven domain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize machine learning models for ad bidding.
- Apply auction theory and econometrics to improve bidding strategies.
- Collaborate with senior ML scientists on experimentation and model development.
- Work with technologies such as Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, SQL (BigQuery), and Airflow (preferred but not required).
- Present findings, progress, and recommendations to stakeholders in clear and structured ways.
- Maintain strong collaboration and communication within a remote-first team.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree (minimum); PhD preferred, especially for candidates with strong academic focus.
- Solid experience in machine learning model development (academic or commercial).
- Background in auction theory or econometrics (commercial experience strongly preferred; academic experience considered for exceptional candidates).
- Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Good knowledge of SQL; experience with BigQuery is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
