Technology Manager - SAP

Job Purpose

Managing and leading development for one of four technology specific functions (AI & Enterprise, SAP ERP, Oracle ERP or smart service & mobility) and responsible for leading and performing business systems analysis, systems design and project management activities for this technology function.

Principal Accountabilities

• Approve application build/upgrade designs, ensuring alignment with standards and policies.
• Monitor performance metrics, address gaps, and lead corrective actions targeting root causes.
• Provide input for IT standards and guidelines, identifying and implementing technology-driven improvements.
• Assist in developing and updating policies and ensuring their implementation.
• Oversee the application development lifecycle in alignment with GIT enterprise architecture standards.
• Ensure adherence to design principles, standards, and tools consistent with enterprise architecture.
• Review and approve functional and technical specifications.
• Plan software development team capacity and ensure compliance with PMO and IT service standards.
• Drive business case development and manage new application development projects.
• Recommend new applications and configurations to meet organizational needs while optimizing existing systems.
• Plan and supervise periodic application reviews and testing to ensure alignment with business needs and industry best practices.
• Lead the development and release of application enhancements to ensure optimal performance.
• Support IT solutions integration and provide onsite technical support for enterprise solutions.
• Provide inputs for the annual IT budget and manage budget allocations effectively.
• Develop workforce and talent acquisition plans for application development and support teams.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering from a recognized university.

Master’s Degree is preferable.

•Preferred professional certifications: Enterprise IT (e.g. TOGAF, SOA, PMP, COBIT, ITIL…), industry certification in enterprise applications (e.g. MCSD, RHCEAD, Oracle, SAP, Java…)

Experience

•10+ years of Information Technology experience.

•5+ years of relevant working experience.

•Working experience in one or more of technology specific functions: AI & Enterprise Application, SAP ERP, Oracle ERP or smart service & mobility)

•Working experience in multiple industries (e.g. Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities, Retail, Government…) is preferable.

•Working experience of system development lifecycle methods and standards with hands on experience in various methods: (e.g. waterfall, iterative, agile, V Model…)

•Excellent knowledge in new technology trends investigation, study, proposal and implementation (e.g. IoT, Blockchain, Big Data, AI…)

•Excellent knowledge in software quality control and assurance practices and tools.

•Excellent knowledge in project management methodology

•Excellent knowledge in portfolio management practice.
