Our ever-present ambition is to have games ported from every engine and to every platform; all the way from Unreal and Unity to Godot and different custom engines, targeting mobile, Playstation, Xbox, and Switch. As part of that, or as independent projects, we also tackle networking and optimizations - all the interesting nitty-gritty digging into the skeleton of a game and its engine.
At Piktiv, we strive to work in independent teams driving their own work on a client’s project and tackling the challenges that come up. As a senior developer, we expect you to take a mentoring role to more junior colleagues as well as discuss and inspire solutions with your senior peers.
To enjoy working here, being a programmer is your primary focus with game development coming as a secondary concern. You love the craftsmanship of coding and strive to improve your skills in writing code and finding the best solutions for the needs of the project. Trying out new technologies and diving into learning them is core and you are open to stepping outside your comfort zone to expand your knowledge. You understand the importance of stable long-term solutions and feel a sense of responsibility for what you deliver.
Essential:
- At least 7-12 years of professional experience in game development. (If you have less, feel free to check out our open application instead)
- Excellent coding skills
- Experience with custom engines
- Experience developing console games
- Portfolio of previous shipped game titles
- Experience with game porting
- Other software experience
We currently have established offices in Skövde and Örebro, but are looking to put together an experienced engineering team situated in Stockholm, who can become a supporting force within the Swedish and international game industry.
