Blacc Studios is hiring a Medior/Senior Unity Game Developer to join the core team of an unannounced 3D title. This is a high‑impact role building in‑game, in‑engine core systems from the ground up, combining indie creativity with the stability of strong group backing.
What you will do
- Architect and build complex, scalable gameplay systems in Unity (C#): save/load, quest/progression, player & vehicle dynamics, state machines.
- Implement gameplay features end‑to‑end and collaborate tightly with design, art, and QA.
- Write maintainable code aligned with SOLID and SRP; choose between OOP and Data‑Oriented approaches pragmatically.
- Develop and optimize shaders (Shader Graph/HLSL) for URP/HDRP; profile and hit frame/memory budgets.
- Prepare multi‑platform builds and support publishing pipelines for PlayStation consoles and Steam on PC.
- Own features, do code reviews, improve tooling/CI, and raise the quality bar across the project.
What you bring
- 6–7+ years of professional experience in game studios, actively building and shipping games.
- Strong Unity (C#) expertise with URP/HDRP; deep knowledge of Design Patterns, SOLID, SRP, OOP, and Data‑Oriented Design.
- Proven delivery of at least one shipped title (console and/or PC preferred).
- Hands‑on experience with complex system architecture (save systems, quest frameworks, progression, input/camera, player controllers, vehicle physics).
- Shader development experience (HLSL/Shader Graph) and performance profiling (Unity Profiler, Frame Debugger).
- Understanding of certification/submission requirements and platform constraints (PlayStation, Steam).
- High‑energy, low‑ego, all‑hands mindset — no “not my job” attitude.
Nice to have
- Built reusable frameworks/systems from scratch; familiarity with DOTS/ECS thinking.
- Deep vehicle physics, advanced player controllers, robust state management.
- Console‑specific optimization, asset/scene streaming, Addressables, tooling.
Tech snapshot
Unity (C#), URP/HDRP, Shader Graph/HLSL, Git, CI/CD, Profiling/Optimization, Data‑Oriented & OOP design.
