Matchbox Consulting Group is working with a leading electrical engineering services contract based out of the heart of Vancouver on a search for a HR Generalist!
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and improve HR policies, programs, and procedures in compliance with BC employment standards and WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Provide day-to-day HR support including employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, and workplace investigations.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment: create job postings, source candidates, conduct interviews, check references, and negotiate offers.
- Oversee smooth onboarding and orientation to ensure engagement and retention.
- Champion occupational health and safety initiatives; maintain compliance with WorkSafeBC and construction safety requirements.
- Conduct safety meetings, incident investigations, and audits, and track safety metrics and corrective actions.
- Manage and optimize HRIS for accurate records, reporting, and analytics; produce HR metrics such as turnover and recruitment KPIs.
- Coordinate training needs, leadership development, and succession planning.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive HR experience with exposure to full-cycle recruitment.
- Experience in the construction industry or a closely related trades/field-services environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of BC employment standards, WorkSafeBC regulations, and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms and HR data reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- CPHR designation (or working toward) considered an asset.
