Security Analyst
We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Security Analyst to support our client’s cybersecurity operations with event monitoring, incident response, threat hunting, and vulnerability management.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Our client, a leader in the life sciences sector, requires a skilled Security Analyst to provide frontline protection of their digital assets. This role will focus on monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats, improving security posture, and ensuring compliance across global operations.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Security Analyst, you will:
- Monitor and respond to security events in conjunction with global SOC and internal cybersecurity teams (EDR, DLP, XSOAR, etc.).
- Conduct incident response, threat detection, and threat hunting activities.
- Manage the vulnerability management portfolio across technical domains.
- Produce reports, dashboards, and metrics on security events for management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure engagement in addressing potential threats and improve monitoring coverage.
- Review external threat intelligence, research emerging threats, and articulate actionable recommendations.
- Contribute to projects that enhance overall security posture.
- Support evaluation of 3rd-party vendor risks to ensure compliance with security standards.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Location: Eastern Time Zone (Boston onsite or Toronto preferred; remote considered with occasional office presence)
Start Date: October 2025
Type: 6-month contract (with potential extension)
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Certification- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience
- Hands-on experience in a similar cybersecurity role.
- Strong background in security event analysis, log interpretation, and incident response.
- Working knowledge of common threats (malware, phishing, ransomware, DDoS, web & mobile application risks).
- Experience with vulnerability management and patching practices.
- Familiarity with Linux, MacOS, Windows, and common network protocols.
- Exposure to cloud environments and application/database security concepts.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and multitask effectively.
- Independent worker, comfortable with international team collaboration.
- Passion for cybersecurity and eagerness to learn and grow in the field.
