Data Analyst
Candidate can work from any of the location: Toronto, London, Winnipeg (Hybrid - 3 days on site)
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across our BFSI operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with business units to extract insights from financial, customer, and operational data, helping drive strategic initiatives and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze financial, transactional, and customer data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across banking and insurance portfolios.
2. Able to comprehend, maintain dashboards and reports for key stakeholders using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SAS.
3. Support regulatory reporting and compliance by ensuring data accuracy and alignment with industry standards (e.g., OSFI, FINTRAC).
4. Collaborate with risk, compliance, and finance teams to provide data insights that support fraud detection, credit risk modeling, and underwriting decisions.
5. Perform segmentation and predictive analysis to support customer acquisition, retention, and cross-sell strategies.
6. Automate data pipelines and reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
7. Monitor and report on KPIs such as loan performance, claims ratios, churn rates, and operational efficiency.
8. Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives such as product launches, pricing strategies, and market expansion.
9. Ensure data governance and quality standards are upheld across all analytics activities.
10. Stay current with BFSI analytics trends including AI-ML applications, open banking, and digital transformation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Power BI development, preferably in BFSI or a regulated industry.
• At least 5 years of working from Canada
• Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
• Experience with SQL, Excel, and cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
• Understanding of BFSI KPIs, regulatory frameworks, and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
