As the Senior Cloud FinOps Engineer, you will be responsible for building and managing frameworks that provide full visibility into cloud AI and GenAI usage. You’ll establish governance practices, deliver proactive monitoring and executive-level insights, and ensure cost optimization strategies are embedded across the enterprise. Your work will directly influence how AI innovation is scaled responsibly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain a centralized framework to track cloud AI and GenAI consumption across projects and teams
- Define and enforce tagging, governance, and cost allocation standards for transparent attribution
- Integrate with cost management tools, billing APIs, and monitoring systems
- Collaborate with ML/LLM Ops teams to ensure cost observability in training, deployment, and token usage workflows
- Build dashboards, alerts, and reporting mechanisms for real-time and forecasted spend visibility
- Deliver executive and project-level reports linking costs to usage and business outcomes
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement optimization strategies
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial procedures
- Lead the FinOps function and coordinate workload distribution within the team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- At least 3 years in cloud administration or operations, with at least 1 year focused on cloud cost optimization
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms and cost management services
- Proficiency with data tools such as Python, SQL, PySpark for billing and telemetry data processing
- Experience with dashboards/BI tools (Power BI, Grafana, etc.)
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools to enforce governance
- Practical experience applying FinOps practices including budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, and anomaly detection
- Strong understanding of cost optimization strategies such as reserved/spot instances, right-sizing, and workload scheduling
