Location: Lower Saxony, Germany (hybrid)

Contract: Freelance, 6–12 months (extendable)

Role Overview

We are looking for a freelance Project Manager to lead a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Lower Saxony. You’ll oversee planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, and budget requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget from development to commissioning.
• Coordinate EPCs, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with German/EU safety, environmental, and grid regulations.
• Support permitting and grid connection processes.
• Provide progress and risk reports to senior management.

Profile

• 5+ years’ project management in BESS, renewables, or energy infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of battery storage and grid integration.
• Skilled in stakeholder management and reporting (German & English).
• Degree in Engineering/Project Management; PMP/PRINCE2/IPMA a plus.
