Senior Network Security Engineer

Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Security Engineerto join our international team in The Hague. In this role, you’ll take ownership of firewall design, deployment, and optimization, while leading a small team and collaborating across global teams.

Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and deploy firewall solutions (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point).

Implement and optimize SD-WAN and Zero Trust network solutions.

Lead and mentor network security engineers, ensuring best practice standards.

Troubleshoot complex incidents, optimize performance, and ensure compliance (PCI-DSS, GDPR, DORA).

Collaborate with SOC, Security, and Enterprise Network teams to integrate solutions.

Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to ongoing research and innovation.

Skills/Must have:

10–15 years in network/security engineering.

Strong hands-on expertise with Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer).

Exposure to Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls.

In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, VPN, IPsec, BGP, OSPF.

Hands-on experience with SD-WAN, Zero Trust, NGFW features.

Automation/scripting (Python, Ansible, Bash).

Fortinet certifications: FCP (NSE4/5) / FCSS (NSE6/7).

Fluent English, customer-focused mindset, ability to work onsite in The Hague (3 days).
