As a Software Engineer on the Azure Container Instances team, you will have the chance to work across various layers of the technology stack. From enhancing the user experience for our customers to building scalable distributed cloud services that handle traffic from customers to Azure Container Instances, your responsibilities will span the entire spectrum. Responsibilities
- Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature.
- Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.
- Learns to create and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable, with guidance.
- Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.
- Reviews current developments and proactively seek new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- Familiarity with containerized solutions, such as Docker, through academic coursework, projects, or hands-on experience in building, deploying, or maintaining applications
- Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git (e.g., cloning repositories, committing code, branching).
- Ability to write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies, frameworks, or tools as needed.
- You must be legally authorised to work in Romania to be eligible for this role (Legally authorised = has citizenship or has been granted a valid visa or work permit)
- Fluency in English
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes (K8s) or Docker Swarm.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and modular system design.
- Exposure to serverless application development in a public cloud environment is a plus but not required.
