Senior Business/Data Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically strong Business/Data Analyst to support the data sourcing and integration efforts across a hybrid data platform spanning Google Cloud and on-premises infrastructure. This role bridges business needs and technical execution by translating requirements into actionable data strategies, supporting feed onboarding, data product creation, and ensuring data quality and usability across diverse sources.
This is a hands-on role, requiring strong SQL skills, familiarity with various database querying tools, and the ability to read and understand Python and scripting languages for code analysis and logic extraction. Comfort navigating the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment is essential.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
• Requirements Gathering & Analysis
o Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into clear technical requirements.
o Document and maintain business rules, data definitions, and transformation logic.
• Data Exploration & Validation
o Analyze data from various sources including relational databases (Oracle, Postgres), NoSQL databases, and file-based systems.
o Perform data profiling, quality checks, and validation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
o Understand complex data structures, including various formats, like JSON and AVRO
• Feed Onboarding Support & Analytics
o Assist in onboarding new data feeds by coordinating with feed providers and technical teams.
o Track metadata, lineage, and interface specifications.
o Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
• Collaboration & Documentation
o Work closely with data engineers and architects to ensure alignment between business goals and technical implementation.
o Maintain documentation for data flows, mappings, and business logic.
Mandatory Skills Description:
Required Skills & Experience:
• Hands-on proficiency in SQL for querying and data manipulation.
• Familiarity with database querying tools across relational and non-relational systems.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery and GCP console navigation.
• Ability to read and understand Python and scripting languages for code analysis and logic extraction.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with structured and semi-structured data.
• Understanding of data governance, metadata, and lineage tracking.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Exposure to data pipeline frameworks and cloud-native data services.
• Background in supporting enterprise-scale data platforms or regulated environments.
