Software Engineer

🚀 We’re hiring: Software Engineer – Horizon Experiences (IC5) | Meta

Meta’s Reality Labs team is on a mission to build the next computing platform centered around people – connecting them anytime, anywhere through AR/VR technologies.

We’re looking for experienced Software Engineers to join the Horizon Experiences – Runtime & Asset Pipeline team in London (Kings Cross, onsite 3 days a week). You’ll play a key role in improving Horizon Worlds’ stability, features, and reliability across all Metaverse first-party apps.

📍 Location: London (Kings Cross, hybrid – 3 days onsite)

⏳ Contract: 6 months (via Meta CW program)

💰 Bonus: 15% (aligned to IC5 level)

🕒 Hours: 40/week

Start Date: ASAP

🔑 What you’ll do

• Diagnose and resolve system crashes and stability issues.
• Work across C#/Unity applications, backend frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with teams in London, EMEA, and the US to improve reliability of Horizon Worlds.
• Debug complex systems and support privacy/security policies.
• Build and maintain test frameworks and internal Meta tools.

✅ What we’re looking for

• 8+ years’ experience in software engineering.
• Strong background in CI/CD pipelines and backend development.
• Hands-on experience with C#, Unity, Python, C++, Hack/PHP.
• Familiarity with build systems (Buck/Bazel) and internal Meta tools like Phabricator, Sandcastle (nice to have).
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with SQL and data engineering.

⭐ Nice to have

• Android & Unity experience.
• Crash-handling and bug-fixing expertise.
• Code coverage tooling experience.
