Our reputable Ottawa based client has an Immediate requirement for a Junior/Intermediate Backend Golang Developer to join their team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a well-established Organization that is embarking on multiple long-term strategic projects. Our client is looking to add a driven developer to their team and the selected candidate will be a key part of a small team, working in a mission critical, microservices, secure environment to design, implement, and optimize the server-side components of the platform.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services written in Go (Golang)
- Design and implement RESTful and/or gRPC APIs
- Work with databases (relational and/or NoSQL) to model, store, and query data efficiently
- Build and maintain concurrent and distributed systems leveraging Go’s capabilities
- Ensure backend systems are secure, scalable, and highly performant
The successful candidate will have the following:
- A Canadian Secret clearance or eligibility to obtain one
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in a field related to Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
- 2+ years of backend development experience in Go
- Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
- Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Ability to work onsite in Ottawa
Start late September - early October, priority will be given to candidates who can work onsite in Ottawa, this is a 12-month contract with potential for extension or conversion.
