About The Opportunity

Join a forward-thinking technical services organization operating at the intersection of geospatial engineering, digital transformation, and emerging technologies. This specialist role focuses on sourcing and managing a wide array of digital assets—ranging from traditional GIS datasets and SaaS platforms to blockchain-based data sources and cryptocurrency-powered services.

As part of the infrastructure and utilities sector, youll support civil and utility projects through expert procurement of digital tools and data—including innovative solutions leveraging cryptocurrency and decentralized networks.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and procure digital assets, including GIS datasets, mapping licenses, SaaS tools, cloud storage, APIs, blockchain-based data services, and licensed imagery to support engineering and field operations.
  • Procure and manage cryptocurrency-funded services, smart-contract-based APIs, and decentralized mapping data platforms (e.g., Helium, FOAM, or similar Web3 networks).
  • Manage vendor selection and relationships: run RFPs/RFIs, negotiate commercial terms, SLAs, licensing agreements (including token-based or crypto-native models), and reduce cost and operational risk.
  • Oversee purchase-to-pay processes: create POs, manage renewals, enforce compliance (including for smart contracts and on-chain licenses), and coordinate with finance and legal—ensuring traceability of crypto transactions as needed.
  • Implement and maintain digital asset governance: apply metadata standards, tagging, access controls, and asset lifecycle processes across both traditional and blockchain-based systems.
  • Track spend and usage analytics, including fiat and cryptocurrency expenditures, to optimize toolsets, reduce redundancy, and inform forecasting and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with GIS, engineering, IT security, and project managers to align technical requirements and ensure all digital assets—whether centralized or decentralized—meet performance, legal, and security standards.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 3+ years of procurement experience in digital assets, software licensing, SaaS subscriptions, or data sourcing within a technical or engineering environment.
  • Experience negotiating and managing contracts, SLAs, and licensing agreements—including exposure to blockchain- or token-based service models.
  • Proficiency with ERP/procurement platforms (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Coupa, Ariba); experience reconciling crypto payments is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GIS data formats, imagery licensing, Lidar/point-cloud data, and emerging decentralized data systems.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate spend (fiat and crypto), optimize subscriptions, and drive reporting insights.
  • Excellent communication skills—capable of bridging the gap between technical teams, finance, and next-gen vendors.

Preferred

  • Experience with cryptocurrency transactions, wallets, and blockchain explorers for payment or data verification.
  • Familiarity with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems and decentralized data storage solutions (e.g., IPFS, Filecoin).
  • Exposure to smart contract auditing, tokenomics, or DAO-based service models.
  • Background in utilities, civil engineering, or geospatial technology procurement.
  • Awareness of data privacy, compliance, and regulatory considerations in crypto and SaaS contexts.

Benefits & Culture Highlights

  • Hybrid work model with flexibility to balance collaboration and remote procurement work.
  • Lead the integration of blockchain-based services into the geospatial data supply chain.
  • Work with a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on solving complex infrastructure challenges using cutting-edge technology.
  • Opportunity to shape the organizations digital and crypto asset strategy at a pivotal moment of growth.

Apply if you are a forward-looking procurement professional who combines commercial expertise with technical understanding of both traditional digital systems and emerging blockchain platforms. In this role, youll ensure teams have compliant, cost-effective, and timely access to the digital assets—centralized or decentralized—that power critical engineering projects.
