Job Description
Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager oversees the end-to-end delivery of complex software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction. This role involves managing high-risk, strategic projects that span multiple functions, regions, and cultures. The manager is accountable for project cost, schedule, and scope, while also supporting business development and long-term account growth. The role requires building strong partnerships with senior client stakeholders and internal executives, as well as managing vendor relationships and influencing solution strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Project Scoping & Planning
- Define project goals, scope, and client requirements
- Identify risks, resource needs, and develop budgets
- Create detailed project plans and documentation
- Identify and present new business opportunities
- Support contract negotiations and client engagement
- Drive incremental business through strategic planning
- Lead cross-functional project teams
- Monitor progress, manage risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Maintain project information systems and financial tracking
- Ensure timely invoicing and proof of delivery
- Conduct project reviews and vendor performance assessments
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide accurate revenue forecasts and manage cost/resource variances
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong background in agile software development and infrastructure delivery
- Advanced leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively
- Proficiency in MS Project, Teams, and project management systems
- Familiarity with PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent frameworks
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 10+ years of experience managing medium to large-scale software projects
- Proven ability to manage project P&L up to €10M
- Agile project management experience required
- PMP, PRINCE2, or IPMA certification preferred
- Experience in the retail (food/non-food) sector is a plus
Language Requirements
- Native proficiency in Dutch and French
- Fluent in English
