ABN AMRO Clearing N.V. (AACB) is looking for a data analyst to join our new RegTech (Regulatory Technology) team within our core Data Science team. This new team of data professionals will focus exclusively on developing data solutions for regulatory reporting. Do you want to work in a data science team that operates within the financial markets and the clearing industry in an international environment? With our global network of offices in ten countries and close connections to all major exchanges, you'll have the chance to work with leading trading firms across four continents.
Your job
RegTech is a fast-evolving field in the financial industry in which AACB wants to increasingly utilize data analytics to meet both our internal and external regulatory standards. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a new team of data scientists and engineers to deliver actionable insights. You will collaborate with professionals from different domains, such as engineering, legal, compliance, regulatory, and finance, within a diverse and multicultural environment. With 6.1 billion transactions cleared annually and peak volumes reaching up to 51 million transactions per day, AACB generates a substantial amount of data. The aim is analyze and interpret the outputs of our state-of-the-art RegTech models to support support decision-making, ensure compliance, and improve processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand regulatory requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
- Analyse large datasets and perform statistical analyses to derive actionable insights and ensure the accuracy and completeness of transaction reporting.
- Write and maintain scalable, efficient Python, PySpark, or SQL scripts for data processing, validation, and transformation.
- Design and develop dashboards and reports, using tools like Tableau, to effectively communicate key insights to stakeholders.
- Create compelling data visualizations that simplify complex regulatory and transactional data for non-technical audiences.
- Draft clear and concise presentations that effectively summarize findings, methodologies, and recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Translate regulatory guidelines (EMIR, MIFID, and SFTR) into data solutions while keeping up to date with data science/analytics developments in the regulatory space. AACB has the network and skills to support you in this endeavour.
- Communicate data concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
You'll be joining a vibrant group of people in the Global Finance Data Science team in Amsterdam. Reporting to the Global CFO, you'll collaborate closely with regional finance teams and other departments, bringing fresh perspectives and energy to our innovative projects. Your profile
We are looking for the following criteria:
- A master’s degree in a STEM field e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, etc.
- 0-3 years of working experience in data analysis or a similar domain.
- Experience with programming in Python, Git and query language such as SQL/PySpark.
- Solid understanding of statistical techniques and ability to manipulate and analyse large datasets from different sources.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable business insights.
- Curiosity and motivation to work in the financial markets.
- Knowledge about regulatory frameworks such as EMIR, MIFID and SFTR is a plus.
- Fluent speaking and writing in English.
- Authorized to work in the Netherlands.
