The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Firmware Engineer to lead the development & post-si feature enablement and deliverables of SDMA (System Direct Memory Access) FW for next flagship MI project. This role requires deep expertise in embedded systems, low-level firmware, and DMA architecture, with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability across pre-silicon and post-silicon environments.

You are passionate about firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, debug, verify and/or validate FW, SW(driver)
  • Participant in day-to-day firmware development work
  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to facilitate efficient integration of firmware with new silicon, ensuring robust functionality.
  • Write and maintain high-quality, efficient firmware using Assembly, C or other relevant programming languages.
  • Extensive experience in debugging and troubleshooting firmware and relevant driver issues
  • Lead debugging and bring-up efforts across firmware, driver, and hardware layers, ensuring robust integration and validation
  • Review and refine firmware architectures and processes, contributing innovative ideas that improve quality and efficiency.
  • Mentor junior engineers and assist with knowledge transfer regarding best practices in firmware and driver development.
  • Stay informed about advancements in embedded systems, data center technologies, and relevant industry trends.


Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in firmware development, with a focus on embedded systems and data center and data transfer technologies.
  • Expert level experience producing quality firmware
  • Proficient in Assembly and C programming and experienced in low-level hardware interaction and driver development.
  • Strong understanding of post-silicon validation processes and methodologies.
  • Experience with device driver development for Linux or other operating systems.
  • Proven track record of leading firmware projects and mentoring technical teams.
  • In-depth complex issue debug and problem solving skills
  • GFX and Computing knowledge and skills are definitely valuable asset.


Academic Credentials

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
