What’s Refinea

Refinea is the first startup bringing SEO into the age of AI. We build a Generative Engine Optimization tool that helps brands and agencies appear in the suggestions of ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and other LLMs.

We are looking for a curious and proactive Junior Backend Developer who wants to grow in a fast tech environment. You will work on a real product, learn quickly, and contribute from day one.

What you will do

• Help define and rapidly test MVP features based on founder and early user input.
• Implement dashboards and data visualizations for SEO insights.
• Design and extend REST endpoints and background jobs.
• Model and query NoSQL data with proper indexing.
• Optimize performance across the App Router lifecycle and API paths.
• Write tests, add metrics, review code, and document decisions.

• Frontend: Next.js 15, React 19, TypeScript, Redux Toolkit, Axios, CSS
• Backend: FastAPI, Python
• Data: Google Firestore
• Cloud: Google Cloud Platform, Cloud Run, Docker
• Auth: Google OAuth 2.0, JWT
• Architecture: microservices, REST APIs, CI CD, basic IaC

Minimum requirements (Have most of them)

• Basic experience with React and TypeScript.
• Knowledge of Next.js, SSR, and the App Router.
• Solid Python with FastAPI or a similar ASGI framework.
• Proficiency in REST API design and client integration.
• Basics of Docker and containerized development.
• NoSQL data modeling and query optimization.
• Security fundamentals, OAuth 2.0, and JWT hygiene.
• Testing habits, linting, and formatting.
• Strong Git skills and code review discipline.
• Clear technical communication in English.

Nice to have

• Charts and data visualization experience.
• Firestore and Cloud Run in production.
• Redux Toolkit with async thunks.
• Frontend performance tuning and accessibility.
• Background jobs, queues, or task orchestration.
• Security hardening, CORS, secrets, least privilege IAM.
• CI CD on GCP or GitHub Actions.
• Strong interest in AI, web scraping, APIs, and intelligent automation.
• SEO domain familiarity.
