As a Business Analytics Associate in the Analytics & Applications team, your work will focus on helping the Global Media Sales organization achieve its long-term business and customer growth objectives through the creation of self-serve data analytics, insights, and reports. You will act as a strategic partner responsible for delivering data models, insights, and analytics that impact the ability to understand our media and agency ecosystem and enable the business to react quickly and drive business growth. Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office within the US, or a 25-mile commute of a non-US, country specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. Responsibilities
Key Responsiblilies
- Anticipate business problems and leverage relevant data to address organizational needs. Identify and resolve data quality issues and gaps.
- Select and apply appropriate analytical tools and techniques (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI, Excel) toconduct analyses and generate actionable insights. Evaluate assumptions and provide feedback on analytical frameworks.
- Develop and deliver presentations using dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to communicate findings effectively. Ensure outputs are accurate, clear, and tailored to the audience.
- Identify key variables and data types for evaluation, incorporating risk considerations. Analyze results, report findings, and connect insights to broader business initiatives.
- Expand expertise in data sources, analytical methodologies, tools, and reporting processes. Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability, including automation opportunities for reporting and analysis.
- Embody and promote Microsoft’s culture and values.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools (e.g., experience with SQL and Power BI).
- 2+ years experience working with internal organizational leaders.
- Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 3+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 5+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience in online advertising, particularly paid display & video advertising.
- 2+ years experience in sales and/or partnering with sales.
- 2+ years experience extracting data and creating new tables within large/complex databases using SQL.
- 2+years experience creating business intelligence solutions with Power BI.
