Company Description
At 4QT, we electrify heavy machinery without compromising on power or performance. Our patented hybrid-electric drivetrain delivers maximum torque, significantly lower fuel consumption, and reduced emissions, built for the real-world demands of construction. With up to 40% lower fuel consumption, 4QT provides operators and OEMs a pathway to profitability and sustainability without the need for dedicated charging stations. We are engineers, builders, and system thinkers shaping the future of high-power electric motion.
4QT is looking for an engineer specializing in the design, configuration and interfacing of electric systems for hybrid and electric vehicles.
In this role, you will:
- Support the selection and sourcing of key electric components such as motors, inverters, HV batteries, and power electronics.
- Design and implement the HV power distribution system, including configuring high power electric components, wiring, connectors, and layout.
- Configure and commission the electric drivetrain, ensuring seamless integration of all components.
- Assist with system testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation during prototyping and field tests.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vocational study (Lehre) prior to your studies in any related technical field
- Completed higher studies in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience with electric or hybrid vehicle projects in automotive or heavy machinery (previous work, university projects, student teams, personal projects).
- Familiarity with electric motors, inverters, and power electronics – even at academic or project level.
- Knowledge of high-voltage (400V) safety principles and interest in working with real-world HV systems.
- Basic knowledge of CAN communication and use of diagnostic tools (e.g., PCAN, multimeter, oscilloscope).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as python, C/C++ and Matlab.
- Motivated to learn, proactive, and eager to collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams in a hands-on environment.
What 4QT Offers:
At 4QT, we believe in fostering a dynamic and innovative work environment where our engineers can thrive. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that will shape the future of hybrid and electric vehicles. We offer a collaborative, hands-on environment that encourages personal and professional growth. You’ll be working alongside passionate individuals from both academia and industry, tackling complex challenges and contributing to impactful solutions aimed at reducing CO2 emissions.
In addition to competitive compensation, we provide opportunities for continuous learning, flexible work arrangements, and a supportive team culture where your contributions are valued. Join us in creating the next generation of sustainable propulsion systems for the world’s most rugged environments!
