We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and scalable SaaS products. In this role, you will champion testing best practices, build robust test frameworks, and drive observability across the platform. You will work closely with Product and Engineering teams to identify quality gaps early, influence technical design decisions, and mentor others in testing methodologies. This is a fully remote role within Europe, offering the opportunity to make a tangible impact on customer satisfaction and product stability in a fast-growing, innovative environment.
Accountabilities:
As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you will take ownership of the quality and reliability of the platform. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks across unit, integration, and system levels
- Conducting performance testing and ensuring scalability using tools such as K6 or Artillery
- Building test tooling including mock servers, OpenAPI-generated tests, and test data utilities
- Collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams to embed quality into the development lifecycle
- Driving observability and testing strategies to identify and resolve potential issues early
- Mentoring and coaching team members on testing best practices and quality standards
The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a passion for software quality. Required qualifications and skills include:
- 5+ years of experience in SaaS software development as an SDET
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript, with experience in building test frameworks and tooling
- Deep knowledge of testing methodologies at different levels: unit, integration, and system
- Experience with performance testing and associated tools like K6 or Artillery
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Good understanding of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with observability tools such as DataDog or New Relic
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with PHP or willingness to dive into PHP business logic
- Experience coaching or mentoring other engineers
