In this role, you will play a key part in building and scaling backend services that power seamless integrations with major travel and booking platforms. Working at the intersection of high-volume systems and complex APIs, you'll design, develop, and optimize solutions that directly impact thousands of users worldwide. You'll collaborate closely with product and engineering leaders to turn business requirements into reliable, efficient code, while driving improvements in software quality, performance, and architecture. Accountabilities
As a Senior Backend Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining backend services with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance
- Developing and improving integrations with external APIs used by major travel platforms
- Collaborating with Product Managers to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Ensuring engineering best practices, including testing, code quality, and maintainability
- Driving technical discussions and contributing to the architectural direction of the platform
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives in engineering workflows and team practices
The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background and problem-solving mindset, with:
- 6+ years of experience in SaaS software development
- Strong proficiency in backend programming, with willingness to dive deep into PHP and Go
- Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with event-driven and service-oriented architectures, ideally applying Domain Driven Design (DDD)
- Solid understanding of Unit and Integration Testing practices
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and message queues (e.g., AWS SQS a plus)
- Excellent communication skills in English (C1 level or higher)
