Role overview

We’re looking for a Front-End Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam. This is a mid-to-senior level position within our engineering team, where you’ll work closely with product and design to build and evolve the core of Secfi’s platform as well as maintaining and enhancing our public-facing website.

You’ll have the opportunity to lead initiatives and shape technical decisions from day one. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building modern and intuitive UIs, takes ownership of their work, wants agency in how things get built and is excited about building web applications that shape the financial future of their users.

What you’ll do

• Integrate APIs and services to power our equity planning platform and internal tools.
• Collaborate with product, design, and back-end engineers to define features, and bring new experiences to life.
• Design, develop, and maintain features that are robust, scalable, and secure.
• Write unit and integration tests for core functionality.
• Support product in data analysis and experimentation to inform decisions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help improve application performance and reliability.
• Help maintain and evolve our marketing website built using Sanity and NextJS.

You will work on projects like:

• Integrate AI into our planning tools
• Redesigning our user platform
• Implementing financial planning and tax calculation tools

What we’re looking for

• 3–5+ years of front-end development experience.
• Strong command of React with Typescript and integrating APIs (RESTful, bonus points for GraphQL).
• Experience with a headless CMS, preferably Sanity
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Cypress, Jest and/or Vitest.
• Ability to take ownership of features and collaborate across disciplines.
• An eye for simplicity, scalability, maintainability and performance.

What the hiring process looks like

• Introductory interview — 30 min (video call)
• Technical interview – 90 min
• --- Code Review & Fix (60 min): You’ll be asked to review some real world code, discuss areas for improvement with the interviewer and then go ahead and implement the improvements.
• --- Architecture Discussion (30 min): You will be prompted with a hypothetical feature / app idea and be asked to discuss how you’d implement it. This can be done using diagrams or via a free form discussion, whatever you prefer.
• Value-fit interview with the manager — 60 min (in person, if applicable)
• Meet the CEO – 30 minutes 
• Reference checks (async)
