The Role:
Decisioning systems are central to our business — powering customer acquisition, lending, service, and collections. We've built our own decision engine that combines advanced machine learning with traditional business rules to deliver effective lending strategies.
As a Graduate Decision Systems Engineer, you'll step into a unique tech role that blends programming and analysis with a deep understanding of UK lending. You'll learn how business logic shapes lending decisions and how our systems bring loan products to life.
Our decision engine sits at the heart of our platform, interacting with tools like Salesforce, backend APIs, and external partners such as UK credit bureaus. You'll gain a broad view of the systems behind customer acquisition and hands-on experience developing and refining them.
This role offers structured learning, mentorship, and real project work from day one. It's designed to help you grow into a permanent Decision Systems Engineer, with future opportunities in risk, pricing, or product.
We're looking for curious problem-solvers who enjoy coding, data analysis, and understanding how lending works.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside experienced engineers, analysts, and product teams to support the development of decision systems
- Assist in designing, testing, and refining decision models that guide customer acquisition and lending decisions

- Apply your mathematical and analytical skills to help solve real-world lending and business challenges
- Build a broad understanding of the systems that decision engines connect with - including Salesforce, backend APIs, and external credit bureaus
- Learn how to work in an Agile environment and use data and technology to support decision-making
- Contribute to processes that ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability
- Develop awareness of key issues such as data privacy, security, and algorithmic fairness
- Keep up to date with industry trends and tools, with guidance and training support provided

- A bachelor's degree in a related subject such as Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a similar discipline
- Some experience (academic or project-based) with programming in Python, Java, SQL, or similar languages
- An understanding of core mathematical concepts such as statistics, probability, or linear algebra
- An interest in lending, credit products, or financial services - and a desire to understand how technology shapes customer acquisition and loan decisioning
