Position: Business Analyst
Location: Toronto, On
Must‑Have Qualifications
- Strong P&C Insurance domain knowledge with proven delivery as a Business Analyst (not necessarily hands‑on configuration).
- Demonstrated strength in communication (crisp writing, facilitation, stakeholder management).
- Hands‑on with requirements decomposition (from business outcomes → user stories/test cases).
- Experience collaborating with actuaries on rating/price‑change initiatives (nice if Earnix exposure but not required).
Nice to Have
- Exposure to rating engines (Earnix preferred; Guidewire optional), policy admin, and underwriting workflows.
- Insurance regulatory/compliance familiarity (filings, audit trails).
- Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban), Jira/Azure DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Lead structured elicitation (interviews, workshops, process walkthroughs) and convert business needs into epics/features/user stories with acceptance criteria tailored to rating use cases.
- Create and maintain BRDs/FRDs, process maps, data dictionaries, and requirements traceability from business intent to test/production.
- Collaborate with actuaries and product owners to capture rating factors, underwriting rules, and non‑functional constraints (performance, auditability).
- Partner with BSA/Dev/QA on backlog refinement, story slicing, and UAT planning; support defect triage and change control.
- Communicate progress, risks, and scope decisions to stakeholders in business terms.
