About The Role.

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Improvin’, you’ll play a key role in building a platform that helps companies in the food industry lower their climate footprints. We’re looking for someone dedicated to creating value and improving the day-to-day lives of our users. For that, you’ll need a strong belief in our mission and a passion for building data products – everything from developing and maintaining ETL flows and our data lake to working hands-on with large datasets, building machine learning models, and integrating with our web platform.

Machine learning will be increasingly used across our platform. Computer vision and remote sensing, such as field boundary and crop type detection, are already key areas and will continue to be important. Predictive models are also a major part of our future, with existing examples including yield prediction.

About The Team.

We use English as our working language. Our hybrid work setup is flexible, but we expect you to come into the office on a weekly basis. We accept applicants from both inside and outside the EU, and we’ll do our best to support your transition.

How you make impact.

• Develop and maintain data-focused products and machine learning models with an emphasis on performance and availability.
• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure data processing pipelines, storage solutions, and databases.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data platform issues, implementing solutions to prevent future problems.
• Own and implement data security and privacy policies, including access control, encryption, and data masking
• Collaborate with software engineers, analysts, designers, C-level executives, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and develop solutions.
  
  

We believe you have.

• Passion and drive to build high-quality data-focused products, with proven involvement in end-to-end product development.
• Approximately 5+ years of experience building scalable, reliable, and easy-to-maintain data products.
• Preferably, a few years of experience in machine learning or MLOps projects.
• A proactive approach to identifying pain points, risks, and opportunities in an iterative development process.
• Good communication skills and a commitment to close collaboration with colleagues.
• Experience contributing actively to a team’s continuous work toward a shared technical vision.
• Experience with cloud-based solutions, orchestration, and containers.
• A strong willingness to learn, receive feedback, and a desire to grow both personally and professionally alongside your team.
