Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Android Developer (Device Side) with strong expertise in Android platform development, system services, HAL, and low-level integrations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working on Android internals, device bring-up, and customizations for embedded systems, consumer electronics, or automotive platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize Android applications and system services for device-side implementations.
- Debug and resolve issues across application, framework, and kernel layers.
- Customize Android builds (AOSP) for device-specific requirements.
- Work with camera, audio, sensors, connectivity, and telephony stacks at the framework and HAL level.
- Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and system validation to ensure reliability and quality.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in Android development, with focus on system and device side (not just apps).
- Strong knowledge of AOSP, Android framework, and system services.
- Experience with Android debugging tools (adb, systrace, logcat, perf, dumpsys).
- Exposure to hardware integration (Camera, Audio, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Sensors, GPS).
- Experience in version control systems (Git, Gerrit) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in Automotive Infotainment, IoT, or Consumer Electronics.
- Familiarity with Android Security, SELinux policies, and permission models.
- Contributions to AOSP or open-source Android projects.
- Knowledge of cross-functional Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.
