Role: Network Engineer
Exp: 6 - 9 yrs
The DCNS NOE team manages network monitoring tools used in Fidelity. A systems engineer maintains and manages all the tools used for observability across the enterprise for network infrastructure, also involving helping customers to onboard and support the usage of the tools.
The value you deliver:
You will be providing platform support for IBM SevOne, OpenText NOM (NNMi and NA), Rsyslog and SaaS platforms like Datadog, Catchpoint, Thousand Eyes, and AppNeta in this role. You will be working in collaboration with our network engineering and operations teams to:
- Support infrastructure and services to maximize uptime and minimize impact to customers, including scheduling, coordinating, and executing maintenance for critical systems
- Develop automations for configuration management, application builds, and deployment
- Build, scale and optimize critical production systems
- Work closely with developers and network engineering teams on projects
The skills that are key to this role:
Technical and Operational:
- Demonstrate sense of urgency, maturity and customer service mindset in day-to-day work
- Working experience as a system administration / RedHat Linux
- Platforms to have knowledge about include GitHub, jFrog Artifactory, Rancher / Kubernetes, and Jenkins
- Observability skills, specifically knowledge of SNMP, metrics, logging, telemetry, network synthetic testing, etc.
- Development skills - Python, Ansible, BASH (shell scripts), API handling / webhooks
- Integration of platforms - methodologies and best practices
- Basic knowledge of AWS services and their usage
- Familiarity with the Agile SCRUM methodology to manage planned work
- Production operational support including on-call / off hours coverage
