Cornell Search are supporting a global venture capital fund with the hire of an Investment Manager to join their growing London team.
The fund has recently launched a new vehicle with significant committed capital and invests internationally from seed through to series C/D, with a focus on consumer and technology.
The Opportunity
- Take a lead role in deal origination, building a strong network across founders, investors, and industry stakeholders.
- Conduct commercial, financial, and technical due diligence, bringing sharp insight into emerging technologies.
- Drive transaction execution, including financial modelling, structuring, and negotiation.
- Work closely with portfolio companies to support growth and connect them with the fund’s global ecosystem.
- Contribute to shaping the fund’s broader investment thesis in technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, assess, and execute investments in early and growth-stage startups
- Conduct market mapping, commercial and financial due diligence, and present opportunities to the Investment Committee
- Develop and maintain a strong network in the startup ecosystem, with founders, VCs, and accelerators
- Monitor portfolio performance, support board work, and help scale impactful ventures globally
Qualifications
- 5–8 years’ experience in venture capital, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or strategy consulting
- Successful track record as a technology investor
- Strong transactional background (financial modelling, structuring, execution).
- Deep interest in emerging technologies (AI, SaaS, blockchain, data platforms, deep tech).
- Track record of working directly with founders or management teams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, high EQ/IQ, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
